Repetitious existence, hundreds a year, yet still neurotic
Welcome thy dead souls, intrude my horizon
It’s what they expect so I exhale, and cry again
Enervating and worrisome, and loosening my grasp
The phantasmic ritual recovers memory, inception manifestation
I walk to the door and carry my affliction
They will all get to see what they paid for
First Real Assignment

Been waiting awhile to get a real assignment out of my English class and it seems we finally have one. It’s a short story theme analysis and he is letting us choose either something out of our texts or something we find, but he has to pre-approve it. He seems to be a fan of Hemingway so I guess to play it safe I will go with one of his stories. Not sure which though, but he did state today in class that pretty much any Hemingway short story will do. aHas to be at least three pages long and in MLA format…this will be cake. The only thing I am worried about is he seems to very stalwart about his interpretations of stories and he comes across and someone who thinks only his interpretation is the right one. Today in class we were discussing a short story called Araby and I gave my analysis of it, but he felt I “wasn’t there” because what I took away from the story differed from what he took. Gotta play it a little safe here because my goal is to make an A in the class and not get into a debate over who is right and who is wrong.
Chapter 16
Turned out to be a little longer than I thought, but as I was wrapping it, I got into that writer’s groove and just went with it. What was supposed to be about 2 more pages turned into 9 and the re-emergence of a character that sorely needed it. One character saw their exit which I was happy about because sadly they weren’t terribly appealing and I had a hard time coming up with material for them. Monday is a study day for me as my English final is Tuesday. The final is easy stuff and I know I will ace it, but still i want to make sure i Have the right organization for the in class paper I have to write. Chapter 17 will be the culmination of a friendship in the book that needs to finally make it’s way to more solid ground. Once that is done, chapter 18 looks to be another big build up to a second major section of the book which has the two main characters trying to figure out what they have to do to make things they way they were or at least try to make things workout for them.
